BIO: Junior college transfer who has started the past two seasons at left tackle. Second team All-Conference choice last year.
POSITIVES: Undersized offensive tackle still rough around the edges. Patient, strong at the point and effectively uses blocking angles. Gets movement from run blocks and buries defenders into the ground. Plays with forward lean displaying quickness off the snap, works to stay square and effective straight ahead. Works to bend his knees and play with leverage.
NEGATIVES: Not light on his feet, lacks footwork sliding laterally and overall blocking range. Not effective on the move and lumbers around the field. Must improve his overall blocking balance.
ANALYSIS: A prospect with adequate natural ability, Watson is a work in progress and has yet to pull the pieces together. Must dedicate himself to the weight room and make major gains in his playing strength as well as conditioning. May not be able to handle the duties of a blind-side tackle at the next level, yet a potential backup for several blocking positions.
