BIO: Honorable Mention All- Big 12 pick three of the past four seasons. Posted career ground numbers of 209/1,017/9 as a senior, also adding 14/165 catching the ball. Has a history of injury problems, which includes broken bones in his foot as well as ankle sprains, which have all caused him to miss extensive time.
POSITIVES: Nice-sized interior runner who lacks the speed and durability to be anything other than a role player at the next level. Displays vision carrying the ball, runs with forward lean and strong in his lower body. Sets up defenders or makes them miss and bounces it to the outside, avoiding piles. Slides to the inside through the creases and displays a small burst of speed. Drives up the field working runs and falls forward to pick up extra yardage. Has the agility to cut the corner, good running instincts and follows blocks anywhere on the field. Alert as a blocker and displays good footwork in pass protection. Adequate hands out of the backfield.
NEGATIVES: Not a quick-footed, fluid running back. Cannot sustain his speed or beat defenders around tackle. At times does too much east/west running rather than taking it up the field.
ANALYSIS: Productive on the college level, Purify has displayed flashes of ability, yet nagging injuries have seemingly always caught up with him. Has an outside opportunity to be a change-of-pace or third-down back in the NFL but must stay healthy.
