BIO: Two-year starter who posted 27/345/3 as a senior after career numbers of 46/709/8 during his junior campaign.
POSITIVES: Nice-sized possession receiver with the tools to develop as a third wideout. Strong, uses his large frame to shield away opponents and wins out in battles. Extends and holds onto the pass after taking a pounding. Relatively consistent hands and comes out of a crowd with the reception. Uses the sidelines well, adjusts to the errant throw and gets low to scoop up the ball. Solid blocker who seals outside running lanes for ballcarriers.
NEGATIVES: Not quick releasing off the line of scrimmage. Poor route runner who slows into breaks. Does not have the second gear or deep acceleration.
ANALYSIS: A prototypical possession wideout, Jones is a well-built receiver with the abilities to be a red-zone threat or third-down target in the NFL. Can be dangerous should he ever play to his times speed.
