BIO: Three-year starter who played in just six games last season and posted 6/62/1. Top season was his junior campaign when he posted 27/292/1.
POSITIVES: Well-sized tight end who occasionally flashes abilities of being a pro prospect. Plays low with leverage, quick into run blocks and strong at the point of attack. Squares into opponents, moving them off the line or controlling them once engaged in a block. Adjusts to the errant throw, displays a sense of timing and quick transitioning to run after the reception.
NEGATIVES: Takes his eyes off the ball, peeks up the field and drops catchable throws. Not quick into pass routes.
ANALYSIS: While he runs faster than his 40 time, Halterman lacks consistency and does not stand out in any single aspect. Never had the breakout season scouts expected, and a project in the works.
