2005 NFL Draft Draft Tracker Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Round 4 Round 5 Round 6 Round 7 Players Positions Schools Conferences NFL Teams

 Jason Randall Grade: 3.06
 Position: TE
 Class: Sr
 School: Michigan St.
 Conference: Big Ten
 Ht., Wt.: 6-4.5, 260
 40 Time: 4.92

BIO: Used extensively in the starting rotation the past three seasons. Totaled 11/121 as a senior after 21/218/2 the previous year.

POSITIVES: Consistent tight end with adequate size/speed numbers. Quickly gets into blocks, plays with leverage and effectively uses body positioning to wall defenders from the action. Good hand technique getting off jams, fluid releasing into pass routes and displays the ability to get vertical then adjust in mid-air for the reception. Works well with linemates.

NEGATIVES: Lacks soft hands, does a lot of double catching or lets the pass get inside him. Average blocking strength. Not making plays into the defensive secondary.

ANALYSIS: Sized well enough to be a second tight end in the NFL, Randall must improve his pass catching productivity and blocking results to have any shot at making a practice squad at the next level.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent
