BIO: Two-year starter who posted 58.7 percent/2,387/18/14 as a senior. Posted career numbers of 69.6 percent/1,767/15/7 as a junior when he took over for the departed Byron Leftwich.
POSITIVES: High-percentage thrower who benefits from a passing offense. Displays a good arm in the intermediate field and hits receivers between the hashes in stride. Patient, buys time for receivers and goes to secondary targets. Poised as the pocket collapses around him and finds the open wideout. Looks off the safety and displays timing in the short field.
NEGATIVES: Most of his snaps are taken out of the shotgun. Played in an offense structured for a lot of dump off passes and receiver screens. The further down the field or out to the flanks he is asked to throw the ball, the less accurate the passes are. Cannot drive the deep ball. Does not always find the safety or do a good job with his reads. Implicated in minor off-the-field incidents prior to the season.
ANALYSIS: Coming off a poor senior campaign, there are now doubts about Hill's viability for the next level. May only be effective in a West Coast offense or a passing game that prefers to dink-and-dunk as opposed to throwing vertically.
