BIO: Two-year starter who saw minimal action early in college.
POSITIVES: Big-bodied lineman who easily controls opponents at the point of attack. Quick-setting in pass protection, makes good use of blocking angles and gets movement from run blocks. Jolts defenders with his hands, keeps them away from the action and stays with assignments. Excellent strength and quickly picks up stunts or twists thrown by opponents.
NEGATIVES: Bends at the waist and leans on opponents. Not effective on the second level. Lacks footwork protecting the edge and only effective in a small area. Lumbers around the field and not light on his feet.
ANALYSIS: A massive lineman with enticing size, Griffin dominates the opposition and looks like an NFL prospect when focused on the task at hand. All too often has lapses and gets lazy, solely relying on natural talent. Potential practice squad player who must start to make a commitment.
