2005 NFL Draft Draft Tracker Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Round 4 Round 5 Round 6 Round 7 Players Positions Schools Conferences NFL Teams

 Drew Hodgdon Grade: 3.28
 Position: C
 Class: Sr
 School: Arizona St.
 Conference: Pac-10
 Ht., Wt.: 6-2.5, 309
 40 Time: 5.35
  Selected by: Houston Texans
  Round 5, pick 15 (151 overall)

BIO: Three-year starter used at both center and right guard. Honorable mention All-Conference as a senior.

POSITIVES: Explosive interior blocker best in a small area. Quickly gets into blocks, immediately sets in pass protection and jolts opponents at the point of attack. Blocks with solid fundamentals, turns opponents off the line and keeps his feet moving throughout the play. Stays square and anchors in pass protection. Alert, picks up stunts or twists and helps out teammates.

NEGATIVES: Doesn't drive defenders off the line or open up the middle of the field. Not a nimble lineman effective in space.

ANALYSIS: A tough blocker with the ability to play several spots on the offensive line, Hodgdon is a limited athlete with marginal growth potential. His explosiveness coupled with the ability to play with leverage gives him an advantage and could help him earn a roster spot in the NFL as an inexpensive backup.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent
