BIO: Three-year starter who posted 28/312/2 as a senior after a career high 33/387/2 during his junior campaign.
POSITIVES: Solid collegiate tight end with marginal size/speed numbers for the next level. Fluid releasing off the line of scrimmage, quick into pass routes and extends his hands to catch the ball away from his frame. Looks the pass in and displays soft hands. Runs well laterally and extends to grab the ball out of the air. Gives good effort.
NEGATIVES: Occasionally displays skill as a position blocker, but overall not strong at the point of attack and rarely finishes blocks. Not fast or a tight end who makes plays into the secondary.
ANALYSIS: A hard worker and tough competitor, Blankenship is a solid pass catcher with marginal speed. Has a slight shot for a team which keeps four tight ends on the roster.
