2006 NFL Draft Draft Tracker Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Round 4 Round 5 Round 6 Round 7 Players Positions Schools Conferences

 Gerald Riggs Jr. Grade: 3.31
 Position: RB
 Class: Sr
 School: Tennessee
 Conference: Southeastern
 Ht., Wt.: 5-11, 232
 40 Time: 4.51

BIO: Started six games last season totaling 127/530/3 before being sidelined with injury. Junior totals were 193/1,107/6 when he started three games.

POSITIVES: Athletic ball carrier with outstanding size/speed numbers. Patient and weaves through the traffic on the inside. Has the speed and agility to get around the corner, finds the running lanes and quickly gets through them. Aggressive, puts his shoulders into opponents and doles out punishment. Attacks blocking assignments and is effective in pass protection. Flashes the ability to run to daylight.

NEGATIVES: Not a make-you-miss back who creates if nothing is available. Has had major off-the-field problems. Marginal production as a pass-catcher.

ANALYSIS: After a terrific junior campaign, much was expected from Riggs before his ankle injury. A bit of a risk as a first-day pick, yet could be a steal in the late rounds.

PROJECTION: Late Sixth Round
