2006 NFL Draft Draft Tracker Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Round 4 Round 5 Round 6 Round 7 Players Positions Schools Conferences

 A.J. Harris Grade: 3.22
 Position: RB
 Class: Sr
 School: N Illinois
 Conference: Mid-American
 Ht., Wt.: 6-1, 230
 40 Time: 4.52

BIO: Part-time starter the past two seasons. Played in 10 games as a senior, struggling with an ankle injury and finishing with just 58/351/5 on the ground while adding 11/97 catching the ball. Career-best numbers of 174/822/4 came as a junior.

POSITIVES: Big, strong ball carrier with outstanding size/speed numbers. Runs with good pad level, has an aggressive style and falls forward when tackled. Patient, sees the field and quickly gets through the hole once he finds it. Attacks blocking assignments and consistently works to make positive plays.

NEGATIVES: Straight-ahead runner who cannot quickly cut back or create if nothing is available. Marginal open-field running skills. Does not always play to his 40 time.

ANALYSIS: Always working to improve his game, Harris had injury problems the past two seasons and never handled the ball consistently in a loaded backfield at NIU. Solid developmental prospect who could turn into one of the gems of this draft if he completes his game.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent
