Position:
QB

Sr

6-0, 225

BIOGRAPHY: Full-time starter the past two years. An All-American and all-conference selection last season, also winning the Heisman Trophy. Passing totals were 65.3%/2,542/30/6. Added 204 yards and one touchdown on the ground.

POSITIVES: Athletic passer coming off a stellar campaign. Patient in the pocket, stands strong under pressure and displays excellent field vision. Consistently finds the open wideout, looks away from covered receivers and goes to the safe underneath route if nothing else is available.

NEGATIVES: Occasionally releases the ball off his back foot. Must improve his downfield accuracy and overall pass placement. Lacks pocket stature and is easily brought down at the point of attack. Does not drive the deep throws.

ANALYSIS: A prospect who.s overcome a lot, Smith has done a terrific job the past two seasons under center at Ohio State. Possesses enough ability and intangibles to play at the next level, yet his skills do not match the hype he presently receives.

PROJECTION: Late Fourth Round
