Position:
CB

Sr

BIOGRAPHY: Full-time starter the past three seasons after seeing spot duty with the first team as a freshman. All-Conference selection as a junior and named Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year last season. Senior totals were 72/8/11 after 62/5/12 as a junior.

POSITIVES: Ball-hawking cornerback with outstanding instincts. Quickly diagnoses the action, displays outstanding anticipation and consistently keeps the action in front of him. Possesses top ball skills, shows a quick break to the throw and has great hands.

NEGATIVES: Lacks top playing speed, is slow transitioning off the line and struggles in man coverage.

ANALYSIS: A productive college cornerback who consistently comes up with the big play, Hughes is a terrific player. His lack of speed limits the type of systems he can be used in, but he has potential as an immediate starter in a zone-type scheme.

PROJECTION: Early Third Round
