BIOGRAPHY: Former walk-on who was a reserve his first three seasons in the program before breaking into the starting lineup as a senior. Numbers last season included 71/2/1.

POSITIVES: Instinctive, zone cornerback who made major progress last season. Reads the action and diagnoses plays before they unfold. Properly positions his teammates in the secondary and plays heads up football. Constantly around the action.

NEGATIVES: Stiff pedaling in reverse and not fluid turning his hips. Lacks size and not a strong, sturdy defender.

ANALYSIS: After primarily playing on special-teams early at Ohio State, Smith did a terrific job last season. Has limitations yet offers potential as a dime back.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent
