BIOGRAPHY: Four-year starter awarded All-Conference honors the past three seasons. Senior-year rushing totals included career-high numbers of 294/1434/19 with receiving numbers of 29/280/1. Junior-year numbers included 1252 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns.
POSITIVES: Instinctive ball-carrier who gets the most from his abilities. Patient, waits for blocks to develop, and runs with an aggressive style. Wiggles through the small creases in the defense, finds the cut-back lanes, and makes defenders miss. Displays terrific footwork in a small area, keeps his feet moving up the field, and uses an effective straight-arm to keep runs alive. Does a great job as a blocker picking up blitzes. Solid pass-catcher out of the backfield.
NEGATIVES: Marginal playing speed, struggles to turn the corner, and cannot run to daylight. Undersized and not a strong short-yardage runner.
ANALYSIS: McRae has been a productive college back and is a prospect who does the little things well. He is a marginal athlete with limited upside, yet he could earn a roster spot as a third-down back/special teams player.
