BIOGRAPHY: Part-time starter the past four years used primarily as a return specialist while also spending time at receiver, cornerback, and running back. Pass-catching numbers last season included 34/467/3 when he also averaged 23.1 yards on 30 kick returns with one touchdown. Career-high receiving numbers of 59/655/4 and rushing numbers of 145/644/6 came during his sophomore campaign.
POSITIVES: Explosive athlete who's still trying to find his niche on the football field. Quick in all aspects of the game, shows a burst of speed, and demonstrates the ability to get vertical over opponents. Nicely adjusts to the errant throw, contorts in mid-air, and makes the difficult catch. Elusive handling the ball and effectively follows blocks on the field.
NEGATIVES: Must improve the consistency of his hands. Struggles in a battle and loses out to large defenders. Only sporadically used in the offense the past two seasons.
ANALYSIS: Burgess has shown flashes of ability the past three years, yet he has been minimally consistent. His best and possibly only shot at the next level is returning punts and kicks.
