BIOGRAPHY: All-Conference selection last season after posting 63/13.5/6.5, adding two interceptions and breaking up six more passes. Began his college career at Virginia, seeing minimal playing time the two seasons he was active on a roster.
POSITIVES: Large, imposing a defender who forces the action up the field. Fluid, displays outstanding movement skills and strong at the point. Powerful and plays a strong game. Collapses from the outside defending the run, has a burst of closing speed and leaves a trail of blockers in his wake moving to the action. Fast off the edge, effectively uses his hands to protect himself and nicely redirects to the action. Occasionally lined up in a three-point stance and displays good first step quickness.
NEGATIVES: Lacks instincts, slow locating the ball and at times looks lost on the field. Does not play with much balance. Not a quick, explosive or sudden defender.
ANALYSIS: Redd stepped his game up last season and showed the ability to dominate the action. He possesses the size and athleticism to be a rush linebacker in a 34 alignment and can also line-up in a three-point stance. Redd may need to play in uncomplicated system yet offers outstanding upside for the next level.
