BIOGRAPHY: Two-year starter at the tackle and guard positions. All-Conference selection as a senior. Began his college career in 2001 and will be 26 years old this season.

POSITIVES: Hard-working, intelligent blocker who plays with good fundamentals. Quickly sets in pass protection, gets leverage on opponents, and keeps his feet moving. Jolts defenders with good hand-punch and turns them off the line. Keeps his head on a swivel and works well with teammates.

NEGATIVES: Lacks footwork in space and shows marginal blocking range. Not a dominant drive-blocker. Ineffective on the move.

ANALYSIS: Murphy is an intelligent prospect who plays with toughness. He offers size as well as growth potential, yet he must quickly impress in camp this summer to have any shot of sticking on a practice squad.
