BIOGRAPHY: Former defensive lineman who started at tackle the past two seasons. All-Conference selection as a senior.
POSITIVES: Developing college blocker who.s at his best on the inside at guard. Plays with excellent pad level, bends his knees, and strong at the point. Patient in pass protection, fights with his hands throughout action, and controls opponents once engaged in a block. Plays with a nasty attitude and works to finish blocks. Quick out to the second level, jolts defenders at the point, and easily knocks them from their angle of attack. Keeps his head on a swivel and works well with teammates.
NEGATIVES: Not a dominant run-blocker who drives defenders off the ball. Gets tall as the play proceeds. Lacks lateral blocking range and agility.
ANALYSIS: Cousins made major strides in his game the past two seasons and he offers good size, growth potential, and upside for the next level. He is not a finished product, yet he could be a surprise starter two years down the road.
