BIOGRAPHY: Two-year starter who totaled 33/2/6 as a senior when he struggled with a knee injury throughout the season. Junior totals
POSITIVES: Ellerbe has been a solid player the past two seasons, even after being slowed by a knee injury last year. He is not considered
a self starter by scouts, and is a defender who needs to be pushed. If Ellerbe pulls the pieces together and consistently
plays at a high level, he could start at inside linebacker or perhaps on the weak side in a one-gap system.
NEGATIVES: Undersized and engulfed at the point by blocks. Displays marginal skill in coverage.
ANALYSIS: Explosive linebacker prospect that plays with a good degree of athleticism. Moves well laterally, flows to the action, and
forceful up the field on the blitz. Plays with a good degree of quickness, fires to the ball handler and shows skill in pursuit.
Covers a lot of area on the field, quickly changes direction, and effectively uses his hands to protect himself. Remains disciplined
with assignments and effectively diagnoses the action. Slides off blocks laterally to make his way the play, and rarely off
his feet. Gets depth on drops and shows a good burst of closing speed.
