POSITIVES: Athletic defensive end, quickly moving up draft boards. Plays with consistently good pad level, and makes a lot of athletic plays. Displays good hand combat and jolt at the point of attack to protect himself and keep blockers away. Always on balance, quickly changes direction, and fluid moving out to the sidelines. Fast off the edge, can flatten and shows ability in backside pursuit. Disciplined with assignments and quickly locates the ball.

NEGATIVES: Easily taken out of the action by blocks, and struggles defending the run. Lacks the big frame and growth potential.

ANALYSIS: Ayers is an athletic defensive line prospect whose game really took off last season. He's consistently making plays up the field, and he was a disruptive force throughout his senior season. Ayers offers starting potential at the next level, and he should only get better the more playing time he receives.
