BIOGRAPHY: Four-year starter who saw most of his action at left tackle before holding down the center position as a senior. Awarded all-Conference
and All-American honors since his junior season.
POSITIVES: Fundamentally sound lineman with a terrific feel for the position. Bends his knees, blocks with terrific leverage, and keeps
his feet moving. Solid with shotgun snaps, stays square, and seals defenders from the action with good body positioning. Fights
with his hands throughout the action, displays good punch at the point, and steers opponents from plays. Works well with line-mates,
keeps his head on a swivel, and displays terrific blocking vision. Makes good use of angles, and is very aware of blocking
assignments.
NEGATIVES: Does not show great lateral blocking range or footwork sliding out to protect the edge. Lacks a dominant base, and will be
pushed back off the line.
ANALYSIS: Unger is a solid prospect with the ability to be used at a number of positions on the offensive line. His eventual home in
the NFL will likely be either center or guard. Unger is not a great prospect, but he has starting potential on the NFL level
for years to come.
