BIOGRAPHY: First-year starter awarded all-Conference honors as a senior after posting career numbers of 355/1,884/20 on the ground, averaging
5.3 yards per carry. Also added 19/67 catching the ball. Junior totals included 109/723/9 when he backed up Tim Hightower.
POSITIVES: Prior to his senior season, Vaughan had the reputation as a passive player with a non-aggressive style. He changed that line
of thinking last year, and he showed much more physicality in his game. Vaughan has the size to be an interior runner in a
power offense, and he could be placed on the field in short-yardage situations. He must prove he's willing to do the little
things on a consistent basis if he's to have a career at the next level.
NEGATIVES: Lacks overall quickness, and not a creative runner who makes defenders miss. Does not possess the speed to turn the corner.
Must give more effort blocking.
ANALYSIS: Big bodied ball-carrier who improved almost every aspect of his game last season. Patient, waits for blocks to develop, then
finds the running lanes. Keeps his feet moving up the field, strong, and breaks tackles to pick up yardage off initial contact.
Keeps runs alive, working to get as much yardage as he can out of every carry. Better than average burst through the hole,
rarely brought down by the first tackle, and runs with good lean. Solid receiver out of the backfield, who adjusts to the
errant throw and extends his hands to make the reception away from his frame.
