BIOGRAPHY: Two-year starter who posted 38/655/7 as a senior, with an average of 17.2 yards per catch. Junior totals included 37/548/5.

POSITIVES: Athletic pass catcher with outstanding size/speed numbers. Strong, defeats jams at the line of scrimmage and has a burst. Adjusts to the errant throw, extends his hands, and makes the reception away from his frame. Gets vertical and out-jumps opponents for the high throw. Uses his frame to shield away opponents, and makes the difficult reception in a crowd. Effective blocking downfield.

NEGATIVES: Unnecessarily lets the pass get inside him, and does not display soft hands. Lacks a sense of timing, and does not consistently come away with the reception as he should. Must do a better job recognizing where defenders are on the field. Has off- the-field issues which will raise red flags.

ANALYSIS: Murphy is a terrific physical specimen who?s shown flashes of dominance in the past, as both an underneath receiver and a downfield threat. His game is incomplete and Murphy must learn to improve his route running skills and consistency. He offers a large amount of upside potential, and he could develop into a productive #2 receiver at the next level if he hits on all cylinders.
