BIOGRAPHY: Former USC reserve defensive end who posted 26/2.5/1.5 last season, his only year at San Jose State.
POSITIVES: Schweiger is a good-looking athlete that showed flashes of ability last year at San Jose State. He's a developmental prospect
who must physically mature, and more importantly, stay healthy to have any chance of making an NFL roster. Unlikely to be
drafted, he is definitely worth the investment of a free-agent contract.
NEGATIVES: Marginally productive in college and never established himself as a consistent starter. Has a tall, angular build and must
add bulk to his frame as well as improve his body strength. He has an injury history which may send up red flags.
ANALYSIS: Fluid, relatively athletic defensive lineman with a large degree of upside potential. Plays with good pad level, smooth changing
direction, and goes hard after the ball carrier. Displays a good head for the game, fast off the edge, and works his hands
to protect himself.
