BIOGRAPHY: Three-year starter with passing totals of 67.8%/3,361/25/14 as a senior, when he struggled with an elbow injury. Junior totals
included 70.2%/3,866/26/18 after a record-breaking sophomore campaign in which he threw for 70%/4,619 4/34/9.
POSITIVES: After tremendous sophomore campaign, Holbrook looked like a top NFL quarterback prospect, yet his play has slipped the past
two seasons. His huge production numbers were a direct result of the wide-open system he played in at New Mexico State. Holbrook
possesses the basic skills to play at the next level, yet will need time to develop into a disciplined NFL passer. He's a
solid late round value for a team willing to be patient with him.
NEGATIVES: Occasionally locks onto the primary target. Can get a little wild with his throws, and he is often high off the mark. Takes
the majority of his snaps out of the shotgun and rarely lines up underneath center.
ANALYSIS: Patient, well-sized quarterback with above-average arm strength. Poised in the pocket, natural looking off the safety, and
immediately identifies the open wideout. Throws with a fluid delivery, possesses a quick release, and at times presents himself
as a terrific long-range passer. Puts touch on throws when necessary, throws nice corner patterns, and displays good pocket
awareness. Sells the ball fakes, improvises when things break down, and is a tough passer who will stand in the pocket and
take a hit in order to get the ball away. Does not make poor decisions under the rush, will not force the ball into coverage,
and takes the safe underneath outlet if nothing else is available. Terrific job commanding and controlling the offense.
