BIOGRAPHY: Junior totals included 22/1/1 when he started a pair of games. Suspended for the first two games of ?08 after violating team rules. Started at cornerback as a sophomore and finished the year with 39/1/2. Freshman totals included 41 tackles when he started nine games as Ohio State?s nickel back.

POSITIVES: Talented defensive back with the size and skill to be used in a variety of roles in the secondary. Good athlete, quickly transitions off the line and runs downfield with opponents. Locates the pass in the air and positions himself to make a play on the ball. Possesses a quick burst to the action, and displays a nice move to the ball. Keeps plays in front of him, recognizes zone responsibilities, and is fast up the field defending screen passes.

NEGATIVES: Played poorly last season and was unable to regain his starting job after returning from suspension. Showed a lot of hesitation and indecision on the field.

ANALYSIS: Washington displayed a lot of skill on the field early in his Ohio State career, but he was plagued by inconsistency during his junior campaign. Underrated prior to the 2008 season, he made a bad choice entering the draft , and he will now fall into the late rounds. Washington has the skills to play in the NFL, yet he must quickly get his game back on track and progress off what was a terrific sophomore season.

PROJECTION: Sixth/Seventh Round
