BIOGRAPHY: Two-year starter awarded all-Conference honors as a senior after career rushing totals of 237/1164/7. Also added 14/81 as
a pass catcher. Junior totals included 111/371/2 on the ground. Played in eight games as a junior before breaking his leg
and being sidelined the rest of the season. Experienced kick returner.
POSITIVES: Brinkley comes off a terrific senior campaign where he elevated every aspect of his game. He possesses the skills and versatility
to get serious consideration at the next level as a situational back/third-down ball carrier.
NEGATIVES: Need to improve his blocking intensity. Runs with an upright style for a shorter back. Marginal strength, and he lacks the
ability to pick up yardage off initial contact.
ANALYSIS: Quick, hard-running ball carrier with a versatile game. Patient, waits for blocks to develop, and displays a burst through
the hole. Displays good running vision, uses his blocks all over the field, and shows a good degree of elusiveness carrying
the ball as well as the ability to create his own yardage. Bounces around piles if nothing is available, has good first-step
quickness and immediately changes gears. Keeps his feet driving on contact, slips off tackles and drives forward. Finds the
cutback lanes, immediately gets through them, and can string several moves together over the course of a single run. Has the
agility and speed to turn the corner. Solid pass catcher out of the backfield who adjusts to the errant throw and makes the
reception with his hands.
