BIOGRAPHY: Two-year starter who also played eight games with the first team as a sophomore. Senior receiving totals included 40/494/5
with an 18.7 yard average on 18 kick returns. Junior numbers included 65/1100/7 with a 25.3-yard average on seven kick returns.
All-Conference selection as a junior.
POSITIVES: Big-play wideout with field-stretching speed yet an inconsistent game. Quickly releases off the line, immediately gets to
top speed and beats defenders down the field in a foot race. Effectively makes the reception in stride, displays run-after-the-catch
ability, and possesses good quickness in his all-around game. Shows solid hands when he makes the reception away from his
frame. Effective route runner who quickly gets into breaks and then gets separation from defenders.
NEGATIVES: Unnecessarily lets the pass get inside him, and drops too many catchable throws. Not a strong or sturdy wideout, who can take
a pounding and hold onto the ball. All too often loses focus and concentration.
ANALYSIS: Underwood flashes game-breaking skills at receiver and has the speed that demands opponents guard against the long ball. He
has a slight build and inconsistent game, yet he does enough things reasonably well to be a fourth receiver at the next level.
