BIOGRAPHY: Two-year starter who totaled 44/0/7 as a junior after 64/3/4 during his sophomore campaign. Also returned kicks in 2007 and
averaged 24.6 yards on 28 returns.
POSITIVES: Nice-sized cornerback who flashes ability. Quick flipping his hips off the line to run with opponents, has a nice move to
the ball, and displays the terrific burst of closing speed. Shows a good head for the ball in run defense, and immediately
comes up the field to make the tackle. Works hard to get off blocks. Plays with a good degree of suddenness.
NEGATIVES: Gives up a lot of underneath receptions and shows poor skill in zone coverage. Not a sure-handed tackler.
ANALYSIS: Allen possesses terrific size/speed numbers, yet he is very much a prospect who needs a lot of work on his overall game. He
presently grades as a mid-round pick who could make it as a dime back at the next level. Had Allen returned for his senior
season and performed up to expectations, he likely would have been a top-45 selection in 2010.
