Positives: Explosive defender who displays the ability to take over games and create an impact from the defensive line. Possesses great first-step quickness, immediately alters his angle of attack and fluid moving in every direction of the field. Loses no momentum when he changes direction, fast off the edge, and can bend then chase the action from the back side. Keeps his feet moving on contact, forceful up the field, and works his hands throughout the action. Flashes power with the ability to knock blockers off the line, while also displaying a good inside move wedging through the small creases.
Negatives: Struggles getting off the initial block and will be out-positioned by large offensive tackles. Has shown a lot of inconsistency in his game the past two seasons, primarily due to injuries. Not considered a hard worker or a self-starter.
Analysis: Hardy has displayed the ability to be a disruptive force and a game changer on the defensive line. He has all the makings to be an impact player, yet injuries and at times, attitude, have seemingly gotten in the way of his development. Hardy offers a tremendous amount of upside potential, but he must stay healthy and truly dedicate himself to football year round if he's to have a productive career at the next level.
