Biography: Two-year starter who also saw extensive action as a true sophomore 2007. Used at both guard and center for Notre Dame.
Positives: Hard-working blocker who plays with a nasty attitude. Displays good blocking vision, works well with teammates, and fights until the whistle blows. Bends his knees, gets leverage on opponents, and works his hands throughout the action. Relatively effective blocking in motion. Does a good job with shotgun snaps.
Negatives: Gets minimal movement run blocking. Struggles turning defenders off the ball.
Analysis: Olson has shown an improved game the past three seasons and has both the size and growth potential to play at the next level. The ability to be used at any of the three interior offensive line positions enhances his value. A solid developmental prospect who could break into a starting lineup two or three seasons down the road.
