Positives: Well-sized run-defending safety who's been consistent in college. Good athlete, plays an aggressive brand of football, and looks intimidating in centerfield. Aggressively lays his shoulders into ball-carriers and lands some vicious hits. Shows a burst of closing speed, quickly defends the run and a solid open field tackler. Solid hands for the interception. Adequate skills pedaling in reverse and smooth opening his hips.

Negatives: Does not display sense of timing in coverage nor feel in pass defense. Late reacting when the ball is in the air.

Analysis: Asante possesses the size and mentality to be used as a conventional strong safety at the next level. His game offers a nice degree of upside potential.
