BIOGRAPHY: Junior-college transfer who broke into the starting lineup mid-way through his junior season. Senior totals included 37/513/4
after 35/621/7 the prior year.
POSITIVES: Nice-sized receiver with a good degree of upside potential. Sturdy pass catcher who plays with good balance, body control,
and makes the difficult catch in a crowd. Comes back to the ball out of breaks, extends his hands, and makes the reception
away from his frame. Possesses a burst of speed, and displays solid concentration. Effortlessly makes the long reception in
stride, extending back and looking the ball into his hands.
NEGATIVES: Does not show the deep speed on the field or the ability to beat defenders in a foot race. Must improve his route running.
ANALYSIS: Byrd has been consistent at LSU the past two seasons, yet he did not show much improvement as a senior. He ran very well at
the combine, and if he's able to translate that speed onto the football field, Byrd could eventually break into a lineup as
either a second or third receiver at the next level.
