BIOGRAPHY: Former defensive end who became a full-time starter last season and posted career numbers of 34/420/5, winning all-Conference
honors. Junior totals included 20 receptions for 199 yards.
POSITIVES: Manley is a terrific athlete with the size/speed numbers to be used as a move tight end in the NFL. He's flown under the radar
screen for most of the past two years, yet he has all the skills necessary to surprise at the next level. Manley could turn
into one of the true small-school sleepers of this draft.
NEGATIVES: Lacks blocking size, strength, and rarely gets movement. Has minimal experience at the tight end position.
ANALYSIS: Athletic pass-catching tight end with a good degree of upside. Quickly releases off the line into routes, immediately gets
to top speed, and fast enough to stretch the defense, then create mismatches in the secondary. Gets vertical, adjusts to the
errant throw, and makes a lot of athletic receptions. Comes back to the quarterback to make himself an available target, displays
good eye/hand coordination, and quickly transitions from making the catch to running after the reception. Uses all his assets
to a maximum, and plays fundamentally sound football. Gives effort as a position blocker.
