BIOGRAPHY: Started six games as a junior last year, totaling 20/3/2. Posted just nine tackles as a sophomore in 2007 after being suspended
from the program for off-the-field issues. Earned Defensive MVP Honors in the ?07 National Championship game against Ohio
State after totaling six tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss besides blocking a field goal.
POSITIVES: Explosive one-gap tackle who flashes dominance. Plays with good pad level, fires off the snap with a great first step, and
explodes through the gaps up the field. Works his hands throughout the action, keeps his feet moving up the field, and displays
terrific quickness in his all-around game. Fluid changing direction, and displays the ability to chase the action out to the
flanks.
NEGATIVES: Easily knocked off balance by the first block or handled at the point of attack by opponents. Mostly a first-move lineman
who must beat blockers off the snap.
ANALYSIS: Jean-Francois had displayed flashes of being a big-time defensive line prospect, yet for the most part, he is an overrated
player who's displayed little consistency on the field. He's an underdeveloped lineman with limited playing experience and
someone who needs a lot of time and repetition before he can truly impact in the NFL.
