BIOGRAPHY: Three-year starter awarded all-Conference honors after his sophomore and senior campaigns. Totals last year included 33/10.5/6
after 50/14/8 as a junior and 30/13.5/8 the prior year.
POSITIVES: Westerman is a quick lineman who beats opponents off the snap and then create a lot of problems up the field. He's a situational
pass rusher who could flourish in a defensive system such as the one run by the Indianapolis Colts.
NEGATIVES: Undersized, handled at the point by a single blocker, and very slow to shed. Lack of height enables opponents to completely
engulf him from the play. Does not have the 40 time or playing speed to be used at linebacker.
ANALYSIS: Explosive one-gap pass rusher who makes a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage. Gets off the snap with a quick first
step, plays with good pad level, and keeps his feet driving up the field. Plays with leverage, fluid changing direction, and
relentless in his pursuit of the quarterback. Aggressive, yet he also effectively diagnoses the action. Immediately alters
his angle of attack and displays skill in pursuit.
