Biography: Four-year starter awarded varying degrees of All-Conference and All-American honors since freshman season. Senior totals included 123/1633/16, after 86/1116/4 the prior year. Sophomore totals included 117/1474/18.
Positives: Large, game-controlling receiver presently underrated in the scouting community. Plays to his size, uses his frame as an advantage, and is a sturdy receiver who takes a pounding yet holds onto the throw. Fluid releasing off the line, displays terrific eye/hand coordination, and nicely adjusts backwards to grab the errant throw. Consistent hand catcher who always offers the quarterback a nice target. Works running after the reception, following blocks everywhere on the field. Displays good focus, concentration, and consistently makes the difficult reception. Gives effort blocking even if he's away from the action.
Negatives: Displays minimal quickness and speed in his game. Poor route runner who displays little sharpness into breaks and rounds them off. One-speed receiver with a marginal burst.
Analysis: Hudgins possesses the size and pass-catching skills to be a possession wide out at the next level. He could be a very attractive target on third downs or in the red zone.
