Biography: Four-year starter awarded All-Conference honors since his freshman season. Senior totals included 23/6/3.5 after a career best of 40/15/11 as a junior.
Positives: Undersized college defensive end expected to make the transition to outside linebacker at the next level. Quick in all his actions, fluid changing direction and makes plays in every area of the field. Breaks down well, plays with good balance and rarely off his feet. Covers a large amount of area on the field, and works his hands to get off blocks. Fast off the edge, can flatten and pursue from the back side.
Negatives: Easily controlled at the point of attack and handled by a single blocker. Lacks the great pursuit speed. Slow to react. Struggled making plays in coverage when used at outside linebacker during the Shrine Game.
Analysis: Davis is a relatively athletic college prospect with no true position at the next level. Effective as a pass rusher throughout his college career, Davis must now learn to make plays going in reverse rather than just straight ahead. Seems to have the attitude to accept his new assignment.
