Conference: Missouri Valley
40 Time: 4.62
Biography: Former Wisconsin star who totaled 64/6.5/2 last season. Posted a career-best 67 tackles as a sophomore with the Badgers.
Positives: A one-time highly rated prospect whose game has recently tapered off. Breaks down well, uses his hands to protect himself and remains disciplined with assignments. Instinctive, he displays a burst of speed and quick filling gaps in run defense, flows well to the action laterally and wraps up tackling.
Negatives: He does not always take proper angles to the action, is undersized, and easily removed from the action by a single blocker.
Analysis: Hodge looked like a star in the making at Wisconsin during the 2007 season, but then he struggled through an injury-plagued junior campaign before transferring to Northern Iowa. At his best, Hodge is an explosive run defender who plays sideline to sideline. He offers opportunities in a one-gap system as a backup and has special teams skills.
