Biography: Three-year starter awarded All-Conference honors the past two seasons and named as an All-American last year.
Positives: Tough, hard working blocker with a nice feel for the position. Bends his knees, quickly gets his hands into opponents and blocks with terrific fundamentals. Explosive, jolts defenders at the point of attack and turns them off the line. Better than average skills blocking in motion and quickly gets out to the second level then redirects to linebackers. Keeps his head on a swivel and works well with teammates. Makes great use of body positioning to seal opponents from the action.
Negatives: Average strength in his base and really does not get much movement run blocking. Not a great athlete and may struggle in a zone-blocking scheme.
Analysis: Johnson is a well-sized lineman who's been productive and durable on the college level. He offers growth potential and could eventually develop into a starter for an offense that limits his responsibilities blocking in motion.
