PLAYERS
Biography: Senior totals included 40/4/6. Academically ineligible during the 2008 season. Junior totals of 2007 included 39/1/6, after
46/1/5 as a sophomore, when he initially broke into the starting lineup.
Positives: Terrific-sized cornerback whose play improved almost weekly last season. Jams opponents at the line of scrimmage, physical throughout the route, and effectively positions himself against opponents to defend the throw. Displays a good burst to the action out of his plant, does a solid job recognizing routes, and possesses good hands for the interception. Strong enough to defend the run and brings ball-carriers down on initial contact. Negatives: Prefers to side-shuffle down the field rather than backpedal. Shows indecision in his game. At times, gives up a lot of underneath receptions due to the soft coverage he allows. Analysis: Cook rebounded well last year after sitting out of 2008 season and then performed at a high level during Senior Bowl week four turning in a terrific combine workout. He offers enough skill to start at the next level but will need time to develop his game and smooth out the rough edges. Solid prospect who can be used in bump-and-run or zone coverage.
