Biography: Back-up tailback who played in four games as a senior, posting 32/157/5 on the ground. Suffered a severe neck injury last September in a weight-lifting accident and missed nine games. Posted career rushing totals of 138/705/9 as a junior.
Positives: Well built, between-the-tackles runner with solid instincts. Finds the cutback lanes, displays a burst through the hole, and shows power on the inside. Rarely brought down by the first defender, breaks tackles and picks up a lot yardage off initial contact. Works runs hard.
Negatives: Loses momentum when he must quickly change direction. Lacks a true agility to turn the corner.
Analysis: Johnson has the size, speed, and skill to be used in a rotational system at the next level. He's unlikely to ever be a featured back for a team, but he has the potential to be very productive coming off the bench.
