PLAYERS
Stephan Virgil
Position: CB
Class: 4Sr
School: Virginia Tech
Conference: Atlantic Coast
HT: 5-10.5
WT: 183
40 Time: 4.68
Biography: Two-year starter who posted 36/1/1 as a senior, when he missed four games with a knee injury, then had academic issues. Junior totals included 43/6/4.

Positives: Athletic cornerback prospect coming off a disappointing senior season. Explosive in his all-around game, quickly diagnoses the action and works hard to defend the run or pass. Effective facing the action, immediately locates the ball in the air, and displays a great burst of speed bearing down on the play. Effectively reads the quarterback's eyes, displays a good move to the throw and solid hands for the pick.

Negatives: Struggles to get a jam in on opponents or slow their release from the line of scrimmage. Lacks the great top-end speed and the ability to stay downfield with opponents.

Analysis: Virgil was a highly rated prospect coming into the ?09 campaign, yet he struggled with a knee injury from the start of the season. He possesses the physical skills and playing style to be used off the line of scrimmage, and he is a prospect with a large degree of upside potential.

Projection: 7-FA
