PLAYERS
Biography: Three-year starter awarded All-Conference honors since a sophomore season. Led the team in tackles as a senior, posting 81/5/2
after 73/8/3.5 as a junior and 86/10/3 during his sophomore campaign of 2007.
Positives: Productive college linebacker with limited upside for the next level. Breaks down well, quickly gets his hands up to protect himself, and displays a nice burst of speed bearing down on the play. Remains disciplined with coverage assignments, covers a good amount of area on the field, and nicely redirects to ball handlers. Slides laterally to defend the run, and quickly fills gaps up the field. Effectively makes the defensive calls and quarterbacks the defense. Negatives: Shows hesitation in his game. Very slow getting off blocks and gets caught up in the trash rather easily. Analysis: Stevenson put up good stats at Utah, yet he lacks the true size and speed to be anything other than a backup on the NFL level. Projection: 7-FA |
