Biography: Three-year starter awarded All-Conference honors the past two seasons. Posted career totals of 98/1339/7 last season, when he also averaged 13.8 yards on 20 punt returns with another score. Junior numbers included pass catching totals of 67/958/9 after 74/889/13 as a sophomore.
Positives: Productive receiver who also helps out returning punts. Quickly releases off the line, displays a burst of straight-line speed, and is fluid moving about the field. Runs sharp routes, quickly gets out of breaks and positions himself to make the reception. Easily adjusts to the errant throw reaching back to grab a pass from the air. Works back to the quarterback when the passer is in trouble, extends his hands and makes the reception away from his frame. Displays strong hands with the ability to pluck the ball from the air. Shows tremendous explosion in his all-around game and makes big plays returning punts.
Negatives: Possesses solid speed but not a true vertical threat. Gives effort blocking yet does not get much results. Not a sturdy receiver and will lose out in battles.
Analysis: Sanders had flown under the radar screen the past three seasons yet has been a very productive pass catcher and is perfectly built to line up in the slot at the next level. He has all the makings to be a third wide out and could end up as a team?s primary return specialist.
