PLAYERS
Biography: Three-year starter awarded All-Conference honors as a senior after totals of 66/10.5/7. Junior numbers included 66/12.5/5.
Positives: Undersized college defensive end who projects to outside linebacker at the next level. Keeps his pads low to the ground, explodes off the snap and shows good speed in every direction. Fast off the edge, quickly changes direction and displays the ability to cut the flanks off from running backs. Strong for his size, keeps his feet moving on contact, and gets some force going up the field. Rarely off his feet, fights with his hands and plays hard. Negatives: Small, smothered by blocks or easily handled at the point of attack. Analysis: Sheffield has been a tremendous college player and a defender with a non-stop motor. He projects as a one-gap pass rusher or outside linebacker in a 3-4, and he has all the necessary skills to make the roster at the next level. Projection: 5-6 ![]() Sam Greenwood/Getty Images
