Darian Stewart
Biography: Three-year starter who posted 56 tackles and broke five passes as a senior after junior totals of 64 tackles with.
Positives: Explosive, run defending safety best playing downhill. Aggressive, displays a burst of straight-line speed and a strong wrap-up tackler who brings ball-carriers down on initial contact. Takes good angles to the action, efficient, and makes plays in space. Forceful on the blitz and aggressively lazy shoulders into ball-carriers, forcing fumbles. Negatives: More of a straight-line player, and lacks speed to the flanks. Flashes skill in zone coverage yet struggles in man situations. Analysis: Stewart is a run-defending safety effective only between the numbers. He could flourish as a conventional strong safety or in a zone system, and he has shown skills on special teams in the past, which gives him an advantage at the next level. Projection: 4th ![]() AP
