40 Time: 4.63
Biography: Three-year starter who also saw extensive action with the first team as a freshman. Awarded All-American and All-Conference honors the past two seasons. Senior totals included 41/15/12.5 after 74/20.5/12 the prior year.
Positives: Undersized yet explosive college defensive end who makes a lot of plays up the field. Bends his knees, gets leverage on opponents, and flashes power in his lower body. Fast off the edge, keeps his feet moving on contact and works his hands throughout the action. Quick to diagnose the action and chases plays hard. Rarely off his feet and does a solid job holding his ground at the point of attack. Relatively effective when asked to drop off the line of scrimmage the play in space.
Negatives: Lacks bulk and handled at the point of attack. Just average first step quickness.
Analysis: Knicky has been a pass-rushing terror throughout his college career and a disruptive force who alters the momentum of games. He lacks the size to hold down the defensive end position in the NFL yet has enough skill and athleticism to move to outside linebacker in a 3-4 alignment.
