Positives: Small but explosive linebacker who makes plays in every direction of the field. Fluid, displays terrific quickness and explosion in his game as well a speed pursuing the action. Effectively uses his hands to protect himself, does a solid job diagnosing the action, and remains disciplined with coverage assignments. Fluid turning his hips to run with opponents and covers a lot of area on the field. Makes plays in space and flies around the football.
Negatives: Undersized and struggles getting off blocks or easily taken from the action. Does not time well in the 40.
Analysis: Griffin could well be one of the most underrated linebackers in this April's draft. He has the skills and mentality to be used as a backup on the weak side, and he should be very effective on special teams.
